ACTS Retreats spread the Gospel of Jesus Christ among Catholic communities. Our goals are to strengthen our faith, spiritually renew ourselves, and build lasting friendships. The acronym of ACTS stands for Adoration, Community, Theology, and Service. Men's and women's retreats are open for adults aged 21 and older. Overnight retreats are held at the St. Rafael Retreat Center owned by the Diocese of Dallas in Oak Cliff.
Overnight retreats begin on Thursday evening at 5:00 PM, with check-in at St. Monica Catholic Church in the Family Center. You are encouraged to bring family members or friends to see you off. Transportation will be provided to and from the St. Rafael Retreat Center.
Spiritual direction will be provided throughout the retreat.

The weekend concludes on Sunday at the 2 PM liturgy at St. Monica Catholic Church. Immediately following the Mass, retreatants will share refreshments and fellowship in the Family Center with their families and other parish community members.

The wellspring of graces that flow from Eucharistic Adoration is needed more than ever! You are invited to spend precious time in Adoration of our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, in a unique and intimate way in the Blessed Sacrament.
St. Monica is blessed to provide Adoration of our Lord in the Blessed Sacrament each Tuesday from 9 am to 11 pm. We are also expanding Adoration to Thursdays from 9am to 11pm in the near future. We are looking for Adorers to commit to one hour each week or to serve as a substitute. Please browse the available time slots for Tuesdays and Thursdays using the link below.

We will learn what Scripture, the life of Christ, and the early Church Fathers reveal about Mary by examining the connections between the Old and New Testaments with insights from Dr. Brant Pitre. Looking to reconnect? Consider joining us—Little Rock Scripture Study (LRSS) at St. Monica —for Jeff Cavins’ and Andrew Swafford’s study from Ascension Press: Romans: The Gospel of Salvation. LRSS has been a part of St. Monica for many years. Members include young, and “not so young,” single, married—parishioners with different backgrounds and various life experiences. We meet and discuss weekly reading assignments—sharing with each other our encounters with Scripture, our experience in trying to live our faith in the world, and our moments of insight when something in our life resonates with what we have read. It is a great way to become a part of the community—we have formed many close friendships with members over the years. No prior Bible study experience is needed. We meet on Sundays after the 9:00 AM Mass in the Family Center Lower Lounge (Room 109), from 10:05 AM – 12:00 noon. The first meeting will be on Sunday, October 1, 2023. The cost of the study set is $38. For more information or to register, please call Dan and Sally Cook at
