RCIA SYMBOLON GUIDE

As part of class preparation, we use Symbolon a series of videos that explores in-depth the essentials of the Catholic Faith.

To access the Symbolon videos, you must log in to Formed.org.
To log in click “Sign Up” in the upper right corner of the screen. Then click on “Sign Up as a Parishioner” in the center of the screen. Type “75220” in the box and then click on “St Monica”. Click “Next”. Enter your name and email address (you must be able to access your email to sign in each time you want to watch a video). Click “Sign Up”.

Feel free to navigate the many sources provided by FORMED. However, the only resource used directly for RCIA will be Symbolon.

UNITED STATES CATHOLIC CATECHISM FOR ADULTS

Another resource used as preparation for classes in the United States is the Catholic Catechism for Adults it includes stories, doctrine, reflections, quotations, discussion questions, and prayers to lead the reader to a deepening faith.

CATECHISM OF THE CATHOLIC CHURCH

The Catechism of the Catholic Church is a compilation of the teachings of the Catholic Doctrine in regard to faith and morals. All the teachings presented in RCIA use the Catechism as a point of reference along with Scripture.
 

USEFUL WEBSITES

Catholic Answers is an online resource that provides trustworthy Catholic information. The website includes a database of questions answered and apologists to respond to any questions.

Eternal World Television Network (EWTN) provides Catholic programming including talk shows, children's shows, documentaries, and plenty more.

Catholics Come Home provides an interactive, user-friendly website for those interested in learning more about Catholicism or those coming back to the Church.

Word on Fire is Fr. Barron's website which provides informative videos and commentaries.
