George Soriano has been a parishioner of St. Monica for 19 years, since 2001. He has served faithfully as an Usher, from 2006 to 2010 and from 2014 to present. George goes above and beyond to serve our church and community. He signs up to serve as needed, for special Masses outside of our regular scheduled Masses, such as Christmas and Ash Wednesday. His commitment to this ministry extends to his family. George has brought in each of his children to serve as Junior Ushers as soon as they have been of age. This includes Roman (15 years old), Sebastian (13 years old), Francesca (11 years old), and Valentina (8 years old). Together they assist at our Sunday, 9am Mass. What a beautiful example of what it means to serve our church and community as a family! In addition to his duties as an Usher, George has volunteered with BSA Troop 412 and continues to volunteer with CSA Pack 712. He is a member of the St. Monica Knights of Columbus Council 5656 and is a 4th Degree Knight with the Notre Dame Assembly. He is the founder and chairman of the St. Benedict Youth and Scouting Association. George and his wife Cynthia are currently in diaconal discernment and formation and members of the Class of 2027. For all of this, George is nominated as the 2022 outstanding volunteer of our St. Monica Usher/Greeter Ministry.
