Sharla exemplifies Catholic values by coming out of her comfort level by stepping up to become the Director of the Women's ACT Retreat for 2022. This is a five-month commitment that involves recruiting and forming a Formation team of 24 women, including a Spiritual Director. Then over the next four months, Sharla is responsible for planning and meeting with this team weekly to ensure the team, Spiritual Direction, cohesiveness, and the logistics of the actual retreat. Recruiting retreatants is another responsibility of importance. The retreat takes place over a four-day period at the Catholic Conference Center.
Once the actual retreat takes place Sharla was responsible for the operation of the retreat itself. These duties included the oversight of daily mass, reconciliation, and inspirational talks among many other activities during the retreat. Sharla had the care of 24 team members and 13 retreatants under her supervision. Sharla's catholic spiritual values shone throughout the entire process.
Additionally, Sharla is a key member of the RCIA leadership team where she inspires the candidates throughout their journey to become Catholics. Also, Sharla volunteers for the Knights of Columbus as needed throughout the year. Nominated by Susan Rossiter
