The Diocese of Dallas requires that anyone who is Safe Environment certified must take training each year. Your first class must be a Foundation class. Before June 2018 this class was called “Family of Faith." "Family of Faith" has being replaced by “Recognizing, Responding, & Reporting Abuse”.
After completing Foundation training you will need to attend a renewal class each year. St. Monica offers an excellent renewal class that addresses issues our children are facing. A new topic is offered each year.
St. Monica does not accept training's from other parishes or online training's. You must attend a live training on site at St. Monica. Our Safe Environment team will be offering over 70 classes this year to help you meet that requirement.
To help your training experience go smoothly we have a few tips:
- Classes are always in the Family Life Center
- Arrive early as parking can be difficult
- You will take a photo for your badge – this will be done before or after class
- Please do not bring children as the content is for adults only
- You must stay for the whole class to receive credit
- If you expect to be late you will need to choose another class
- Register – this helps us give you credit for your class faster – click here
If you arrive to a class more than 5 minutes late, you will be asked to attend training at another time.
