If you over the age of 18, have received both the Sacrament of Baptism and First Communion, but not Confirmation, complete the registration form below. After you have submitted your registration, our Director of Faith Formation, Maria Rocha, will get in touch with you. The Sacrament of Confirmation is required for any adult Catholic who desires to be a godparent. If you would like to be prepared for the Sacrament of Confirmation in Spanish please contact Patricia Vasquez in Hispanic Ministry.
Before becoming fully initiated into the Catholic church, St. Monica offers a series of classes to help adults spiritually prepare for the sacramental graces that ones receives at Confirmation.
In 2020, Confirmation will be celebrated on Pentecost Sunday, May 31, 2020. Leading up to Confirmation, a series of seven classes will be offered.
Adults interested in being Confirmed on Pentecost must attend all seven classes. Classes are in the Family Center room 109 from 7:00-9:00pm.
Confirmation in 2020 will be on Pentecost Sunday, May 31, 2020 at the 5:00pm Mass.
A Confirmation sponsor is someone that the candidate selects who has been influential in supporting the candidate in their spiritual journey as a Catholic. A sponsor should be practicing Catholic, who has been fully initiated into the Church (fully initiated is someone who has received Baptism, Confirmation and Eucharist). If they are married, they should be married in the Catholic Church. The sponsor should also be someone other than the candidates mother or father. If the sponsor is unable to attend the day of the Confirmation ceremony, someone else can stand in as proxy for the sponsor.
Each sponsor should fill out this form online: Confirmation Sponsor Registration

In addition to registering online, please submit the following:
Copy of the candidates Birth Certificate
Copy of the candidates Baptism certificate
Copy of the candidates marriage certificate (if married)
Documents may be scanned and emailed to Eldie Diaz at ediaz@stmonicachurch.org.
In preparation for Confirmation, candidates will research the lives of the Saints and then choose a Saint they spiritually admire. We are reminded by St. Paul that "We are surrounded by so a great cloud of witnesses" (Hebrews 12;1) who we can call upon to intercede for us. Once a candidate selects the life of a Saint, the candidate must submit the name of the Saint to the Confirmation catechist (teacher) or to the Church office: ediaz@stmonicachurch.org.
