Safe Environment Information
Welcome to St. Monica Parish! We hope you will choose to volunteer and get connected in any of our many Ministries. The following lays out the steps needed to become a Safe Environment certified adult which is required by the Diocese.
- School Parents/Volunteers must complete the program and receive a badge before participating in any activity on the school/church campus.
- Parishioners must complete the program before participating in any program or ministry. An interview with the appropriate Ministry Leader will be conducted before beginning the Safe Environment process.
- All Staff/Ushers must complete the program.
- Outside Organizations must complete the program before reserving room/space and hosting meetings/events.
This form helps us understand who you are, what ministry you wish to be involved in and whether you are known to others in our parish. This is not the same form as the Parish Registration Form.
Complete the online Safe Environment Screening Form. https://dallas.setanet.org/screening.php
We will call three people who have known you for at least three years and ask a series of questions designed to get an idea of what your friends think of you and your habits. You will provide the references on the screening form. Please do not put family members. Be sure to alert your references that we will be calling. The call will be from Misty Gilmore on the caller id. Please make sure to include your email.
The interview takes about 30 minutes and is designed to help us understand your views of interacting with children in particular and also gives us a chance to get to know you a little better on an individual level. The interview is necessary for new volunteers/employees only. Follow this link to sign up for an interview. Click Here
Criminal History Check
We send your information to a central clearing agency chosen by the Diocese. The agency returns the information to us and it is kept strictly confidential.
Once all steps are completed you will receive a badge that must be worn at all times when you are doing anything other than attending Mass.
